I just have a question about being a buyer. I won an auction today and tried to pay for it and found I couldnt use my paypal account. paypal informed me that over the lifetime of my account I was approaching the $10,000 mark and that if I wanted to continue using the service, I would have to provide my ss#. I was advised not to do so since the law doesnt limit what the company can use it for. is there another way to pay for items without being held hostage by paypal? I have an excellent and long standing history with paypal and dont understand this. Thanks so much.

Hi,
Was just reading your blog about USPS delivery confirmation.
I sold a video camera on Ebay to a buyer in VA. When I track the package it says it was delivered in DeLand, Fl. I shipped it out of Boynton Beach, Fl.
Have you ever had something like this happen?
It’s killing me to think Im going to have to refund this guy 600.00.
Any insight would be appreciated.

have people actually received there money back before the 180 days, i have emailed executiveoffice@paypal.com
as you state in you blog but have had no success or even a reply from them and its been 4 weeks, i have had no claims filed against me and have completed all steps but they are not budging on limitation any suggestions

I have always used Toolhaus but today I cannot connect to it ! Error message “server cannot connect” .. I then tried both of the sites you recommended, & same result ??
Are Ebay able to block them, or corrupt them some way ? You would think that is illegal ?

Hi, I have a question …I am from india and i have a verified paypal account(address on verified paypal is indian address)…and i created an ebay.com(USA) account with USA personal post office(PPO) address on file…so that my items are first shipped to my PPO in usa and then in turn forwarded to my home country… But in some of the listings i have seen sellers quoting “items will be shipped only to verified paypal addresses”..So my question is if i use my Ebay usa acct which has my US PPO address on file to order and then pay with my verified paypal acct which has my indian address on file…then which address will the seller get when i buy an item …Will it be my verified paypal indian address or my PPO address on ebay??Pls do reply as soon as possible..Thanks in advance..

Dear Josh,
A buyer recently file a false police report using an online system for “Lost Property.” According to the Chief of Police for Montgomery County in Maryland, the buyer must have had possession of the property they are claiming they lost when they want to file a report. The reporting parting must swear under penalty of perjury that they lost the property within the Montgomery County limits. If the box was received and the contents are missing, the buyer must file a claim with USPS Postal Inspector if the item was insured, as they have legal jurisdiction. The item was insured, the buyer refused to file a USPS claim, and by falsifying an online police report that is reviewed and approved by a civilian not a law enforcement officer, PayPal refunded the buyer’s money ($3,324.00). I tried appealing the case offering proof of this, as well as tracking information, delivery confirmation & signature confirmation, plus evidence of the weight of the package and PayPal has vehemently refused, closing the case and stating in writing, I cannot appeal. Any suggestions??? (I have already filed an IC3 report, an FTC report and a complaint with the Attorney General’s office here in Arizona, along with an official criminal investigation report, but in the meantime, this buyer has made off with over 3K in merchandise and the money owed to me. On top of that, PayPal is charging me almost $97 in fees for this dispute yet the never were willing to accept any evidence I had to offer. Thank for reading, Laura

I had a question about paypal – if a sale of an item was made via email, and then the buyer pays via paypal (gift or payment owed), and no reference is made to the item in paypal- what can I do as the seller if I sent the item (with a tracking number) and it was received, and then the buyer does a chargeback from his bank (not cc) and paypal has now contacted me that it was an ‘unauthorised payment’

Since I was paid via “gift or payment owed”, can I make a claim as a “seller”? Or will I be in trouble for avoiding paypal fees – will I have any “seller protection”? i.e. is it worth me sending in the tracking number for the item I sent, or will they still not send back the money?

Thanks for any info I really appreciate it.
